MW Top 13s — Leadership Fuck-Ups

The point of leadership has become increasingly smaller as time has gone on – since we’ve stopped doing reviews, there’s little we’ve done to make ourselves official, what with our comments being on par with everybody else’s. The only thing that really differentiates us now is that we’re now doing these articles on the stadium weekly, but then again, the leadership is somehow incapable of even doing that, and other people who are no longer leaders still post articles anyway. The only real function of the leadership is to manipulate the top 50, aside from something to enhance your E-Penis, anyway. For all the mass talk and debate amongst leaders, very rarely is anything ever accomplished, and it’s likely to stay that way, especially now that several of the main factions who create the arguing have dropped out of leadership. Despite this, leaders are supposed to be looked up to as an example, and there have been many, many instances where leadership has managed to make a mockery of themselves.

13 – Chat Power – MarthTrinity, KingK.Rool, Sundance

While Smady’s proposal was delayed long enough for Roonahu to not pass it through, one part of the proposal managed to gain support from Warlord, the biggest critic. This proposal was that only sandbags of the current MYM would have modship in the chat, as well as only Sundance and the current OP having owner status. This would be all fine and well, but oh no, don’t underestimate the incompetence of Sundance. He somehow managed to lose his modship at the same time as MT did, and now nobody but Merge, who was randomly made an owner, has any further power over the chat. Considering how Merge has a tendency to leave for long periods of time, we’ll inevitably all lose our modship before long and have to make a new bloody chat. Nevermind how Sundance vanished for a considerable time and made Silver and Twilt owners in his abscenece for a month long period. . .What’s worst about this proposal is that it actually got passed as Rool signed on, but the moment it came down to Rool actually losing modship he cringed and veto’d the bill he already signed, and MT went along with him. We were all just too eager to give the finger to Smady after the atrocities he just committed, but the long term effects of this have been quite nasty indeed.

12 – Increasing Sandbag Quantity to 7 in MYM 5 – MasterWarlord

Because I randomly decided to introduce themes in MYM 5, I increased sandbag quantity to 7 in MYM 5 to go along with my precious theme of sins. From there on out, we had a ridiculous amount of trouble killing off sandbags to get the sandbags back down to a healthy quantity – half of the competent MYMers were in the leadership. We made a temporary solution of just making the other lesser leaders “minors”, which was essentially just firing them seeing they had no power anyway and just made us look bad to still technically have them as leaders. This large emphasis on the theme in MYM 5 also inevitably caused more debate over the themes of the next MYMs, causing exceptional wastes of time. The “theme” of MYM 7 was themes, how brilliant that was, which was quickly thrown out the window.

11 – Limiting Sandbag Power in picks/shifts/kicks in MYM 7 – Junahu, KingK.Rool

Obviously this is the one where I’m conflicting with a good chunk of MYM, but it’s my list, and this list is basically begging for hate mail more then any I’ve done. The reason I detest the MYM 7 top 50 so much more than other top 50s is because there were other nasty things in the top 50 I was unable to get my hands on, as Roonahu passed a new rule on the spot in response to my mass shifts to prevent leaders from making more than 3 each. Now Arbok shall never be given the justice he deserves in terms of his placing on the list. . .

10 – Leaving Leadership – Hyper_Ridley

Yes, HR’s long post to explain all of the things that were happening in his life was a plenty enough excuse to get rid of something that was burdening him, and he did indeed have enough going on to warrant it. . .Except for the part where being in leadership didn’t cause him to actually have any responsibilities. He said he’d be a horrible leader, but with what he does anyway he still functions fine, and it’s not like leaders have to hardly do much of anything anyway. He’s still a hell of a lot better than several of the other leaders we had at that time, much less compared to the leaders today if we still had him on board – it could potentially soften all of the blame constantly thrown onto the leadership, even.

9 – Refusing to be Original Poster – KingK.Rool, Junahu

Roonahu have a massive phobia of becoming OP. There’s no rational reason, really. I suppose there’s the leadership curse, but that’s done such horrible things to me, now hasn’t it? How horrible, I was banished for 2 weeks for a ban. Because nobody else has been “away” from MYM that long, and it was in-between MYMs anyway when I had no need to post on SWF. It wouldn’t particularly matter that Roonahu didn’t want to be OP if it didn’t make such ridiculous amounts of sense, seeing they’ve accomplished so damn much in MYM and are so iconic. Because of their refusals, we ended up with MYM 7. More on that soon enough. . .

8 – Hiring Sonic the Baron – Commander Blitzkrieg

Remember back when Blitzkrieg, somebody who couldn’t care less about MYM, was the kingpin? Sure, he made Mendez and even myself a leader after we proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that we were serious about movesetting, but he also made his bestest buddy, Sonic the Baron, a sandbag simply because he was. . .His bestest buddy, and enjoying making shitty MYM 2 sets and lots of youtube poops. While Baron quickly lost his leadership, it was because he quit – Blitzkrieg would’ve been perfectly content with it if he’d stayed in power until MYM 5 when we finally grew the balls to kick people.

7 – Hiring Tanookie – Spadefox, KingK.Rool, MarthTrinity

Tanookie seemed like a decent enough guy – he took after Mendez and was a big fan of him, and made some pretty nice sets when he finally came around that were perfectly up to our standards of blatant overdetail and creativity at the time. . .Why not add him, right? Too bad he didn’t take it seriously enough to really care about what the rest did and thus didn’t really comment, or have much of any lasting interest at all. When prodded to do more, he simply insisted that he had a life, and when he came to the chat he basically thought we were just a bunch of loons.

6 – Sloth in MYM 8 – Wizzerd, Darth Meanie, MarthTrinity, BKupa

So when all activity in MYM starts drying up, what’s the perfect thing to do? Kick back and take a vacation. That’s what the leadership of MYM 8 seems to think, anyway. Wizzerd hasn’t made a set since Strangelove and has fell off the face of the earth entirely. While he did make a good catch up, his presence is just so non existent that he’s a bad face for the leadership. . .And he can’t even release a weekly article where all he has to do is come up with questions for another MYMer. His excuse? He’s going into Middle School, so horrible. DM. . .? He’s busy working on an impossible 13 part multi-set and fapping to Pokemon. MT and Kupa obviously aren’t as bad, especially with MT’s computer woes and how Kupa actually makes sets, but when Wiz and DM are so dead. . .Yeah. It doesn’t come together as a particularly competent leadership.

5 – Hiring Wizzerd – MasterWarlord, MarthTrinity

We’ve already covered Wiz’s inactivity recently, and that’s why MT is on here – failing to fire him. Of course, I’m on the list for being the main one to hire him, though, what with promising him leadership well in advance because Bubbles, the set that gets infinited by any neutral A combo, is clearly such a superb moveset. He wasn’t that weird as a minor, but. . .Has he ever really accomplished much of anything besides Strangelove? While he was a commenting god after he first got leadership, his comments quickly died off, making it a rather poor decision to hire him in hindsight.

4 – Making Smady OP of MYM 7 – MasterWarlord, KingK.Rool, Junahu

Ah, here we go. . .This rather links into Roonahu refusing to be OP, as it resulted in the absolute mess of Smady becoming dictator of a MYM he would never participate in. What had Smady done previously? He’d made a mediocre moveset in Raiden to get into the leadership at all, and he’d made a single set in MYM 6. Yes, he made comments, but why comment on something you’re incapable of doing yourself? The problem was that with Roonahu being dicks/too pussy about the leadership curse, there wasn’t much of anyone else to choose. Who were we going to make OP? MT? Now THAT would be stupid. . .

3 – Sloth in MYM 7 – Smady

I hardly need to tell you about this one. Smady was not just some leader doing absolutely nothing over the course of a MYM, he was an –OP- doing absolutely nothing over the course of a MYM. He failed to make any movesets save Gambit, the last set in the contest, and it was a joint set anyway, with Silver doing the vast majority of the work to actually get it released. His comments were near non existent – he had a –very- small batch at the start of the contest, but that was it. When constantly pestered to get off his fat ass, Smady just said he’d wait for MYM 8 to start anew, already having deemed MYM 7, his own MYM, as a lost cause. Smady was of course a massive chat leech during the course of MYM 7, and him being owner is comparable to a theoretical Tanookie ownership in MYM 5. It made Sundance as an owner look –good-. If anything turned the leadership into a joke, it was this.

2 – Proposals in MYM 7 – Smady

Did I say Smady did absolutely nothing over the course of MYM 7? No, no, that wouldn’t be enough for him. Instead, Smady did something with a negative effect – he came up with proposals to boot out the oldest leaders and to constantly bring in new ones, meaning Wiz would be stuck in leadership the longest while I’d be booted out instantly, along with Kupa and MT, the less mediocre leaders, getting phased out much more quickly. What about after Wizz and DM? Who gets in then? Joe? Twilt? –Really-? You’re the one who’s constantly talking about foresight, Smady, and this is the single most idiotic thing you could of ever hoped to achieve. Roonahu both supported it, and it only died because it was filibustered to the extent where there was no time left to approve it with Smady still in power. This proposal caused mass pointless arguments that wasted hours upon hours of time in the chat, turning Smady into the definitive chat leech – contagious as hell.

1 – Taking the proposal up the butt – Junahu

Rool and HR stepped down from leadership of their own will by basically quitting MYM (Not so much so in HR’s case), but Junahu? He stepped down from leadership in order to make the effects of the proposal happen anyway despite it not being passed, and we’re left with this crappy excuse for a leadership in MYM 8 because of it. Junahu is still very much so alive and could’ve very easily stayed in leadership. Yeah, he’s slowed down, but who hasn’t at this point? While there’s been talk of Junahu going to join his other half before long, he could’ve at least stayed on for MYM 8, which badly needed his support.

  1. Defintely flowcharts or OOC next.

    Voted OOC though.

  2. This is clearly your worst list yet, with lots of it simply being blanket insults on other MYMers, such as Wizzerd, Junahu, Rool and, the biggest scapegoat of all apparently, myself. You’ve also just so happened to make plenty of alleviating mistakes to make yourself look better, such as claiming you supported the chat proposal, which is a complete lie.

You tried to incite some kind of riot in the chatroom when I first posted the proposal, forcing Sundance to follow the as-of-then not voted on chatroom proposal out of pure fear. You pretend as if I forced everyone into following any of the guidelines I presented in Make Your Move 7, but as anyone can see, I made no attempts to do that.

Believe me, I had no hand in creating this Make Your Move – if anything, this was the result of leadership doing the exact opposite of whatever I said. What is painted in this list is a pathetic and desperate attempt to blame all of Warlord’s failings on other people, while brushing all that disagrees with this fabrication under the rug.

He’ll say he took some blame, but all I see is the minor flaws in the MYM5 Sin system and hiring Wizzerd, which he then goes on to say is not as bad as not firing Wizzerd.

The list itself is simply full of superfluous crap surrounding Make Your Move 7, trying to stretch out my “slothfulness,” “MYM7” and “Roonahu” lies as much as Warlord can. For purely causing me rage, though, this list was completely predicted and actually provided a lot of laughs, so thanks.

This is the list version of Jason Voorhees, and I suppose there’s some credence in saying this is all in the past. But that seems to only make it easier to lie.

I didn’t support the chat proposal? Hmm? I was one of the yes votes alongside Rool, though unlike Rool I didn’t backstab you. I just wasn’t as adamant as you about demanding that the chat proposal went through – so yes, you’re still the star there.

Yes I proposed a riot to you trying to boot me out of power and create a leadership where it would ultimately result in idiots ruling MYM somewhere down the line. Hell, with how you were doing absolutely nothing after you were made OP, it wasn’t unlikely you would just change the rules after you got rid of me to make things how they were before to eternally stay in power.

I never claimed you had a hand in hurting MYM 8, and I have no idea how you interpreted that. Would you care to point me to my many failings in terms of leadership? Please stop being butthurt about the fact that you did worse than not exist in MYM 7.

Sorry, I’m still trying to get over how you dwarfed Spadefox in MYM 7 as the antichrist of MYM, and the vast majority of MYM still hasn’t forgotten about it. That said, this list was indeed meant to induce rage from nearly every party. These sorts of replies were expected.

You can come out of absolutely blatant transparent denial whenever you want, Smady.

This is the list version of Jason Voorhees, and I suppose there’s some credence in saying this is all in the past. But that seems to only make it easier to lie.

This list is indeed pretty crappy in terms of general quality, one of the crappiest I’ve done in a while. It was intentional in order to lure you out from under your bridge.

  4. Seems like all the Smady/proposal/MYM7 stuff coulda been counted as one thing, rather than encompassing all of the top four.

  5. I didn’t support the chat proposal? Hmm? I was one of the yes votes alongside Rool, though unlike Rool I didn’t backstab you. I just wasn’t as adamant as you about demanding that the chat proposal went through – so yes, you’re still the star there.

You yes voted it, but you didn’t show any support for it whatsoever. You were always entirely anti-proposals in any form – more than that, every time you talked about it, you were basically wrecking them one and all, always neglecting to mention how these were only the -draft- proposals that were being discussed and voted on when actually complete.

Completely wrong; all of this. The leadership proposal was the one where we discussed about different methods the most, it coming down in the end to a rotating system where leaders could re-join after one four-month contest. This was after rabid discussion in the forum. Oh no, Herr Smady just pushed through his draft leadership proposal and forced everyone to follow it. I guess I should have print screened all of this before MT banned me from the forum for no reason.

I never claimed you had a hand in hurting MYM 8, and I have no idea how you interpreted that. Would you care to point me to my many failings in terms of leadership? Please stop being butthurt about the fact that you did worse than not exist in MYM 7.

Well, this contest is twice as long as the rest. It barely has a hundred movesets – it’s nowhere near as successful as MYM7, but apparently I, as OP and ‘the leader’ of that one made the biggest fuck-ups, but MYM8 is just nobody’s fault at all; just an act of God. I just find it hard to believe thinking of it as an objective reader, let alone my predicting of all of this and trying to help with the proposals. In hindsight, I can see why I chose to do that rather than be active in MYM7. And it’s not like I wasn’t super active at the start of MYM8, though I fell off.

I’m not going to pretend I didn’t present myself in a good light here, but I’m still waiting for you to tell me about all of the horrible things I’ve done.

As said, with the proposals you were hardly a diplomat in basically trying to destroy anything I was hoping to create, and you got me kicked out of the leadership forum alongside your pet Wizzerd when I was meant to be actually installing what we had agreed on. It’s not that you’re a bad leader in general, it’s just that you totally misrepresented yourself here as squeaky clean in all of my horrific points which tarnish my character.

The majority of MYM was indifferent or swinging with the proposals in MYM7 – only in my complete dropping off in terms of activity in that contest did I somewhat doom myself to being recalled in a negative fashion, but the automatic labelling inherent in my being selfish there doesn’t always ring true. And now, I think my estimations amongst most have risen if anything, so using this as some kind of metre of the Smady hate is hyperbolic at best.

You can come out of absolutely blatant transparent denial whenever you want, Smady. This list is indeed pretty crappy in terms of general quality, one of the crappiest I’ve done in a while. It was intentional in order to lure you out from under your bridge.

I’m not in denial, I accept my mistake in being inactive in Make Your Move 7, but you’re really pushing it with a lot of these points in trying to completely plaster my person. I told you that last night, though – purely for the list, a couple of my apparent fuck-ups are basically the same thing, just pulled over a couple of paragraphs to make them seem worse.

  6. This is an awesome finger pointing list, and it’s important for screw ups in the leadership to be acknowledged, even if the bias here is enough to tip a cow.

My spot at #1 is pretty warrented. Me supporting the proposal pretty much made Rool leave MYM alltogether

I can totally come back into the leadership for MYM9. But would you really want me in the OP’s seat?
    Actually, that might be fun…

  7. “It was intentional in order to lure you out from under your bridge.”

I am grumpy old troll I won’t budge

Actually, as far as baiting goes, this is pretty mild stuff right here. Nostalgic, even.

  8. …My God, I think I’m actually choking on testosterone.

  9. Voted for OOC, although I’d be equally fine with Overrated Sets.

“I can totally come back into the leadership for MYM9. But would you really want me in the OP’s seat?
    Actually, that might be fun…”

    =o

  10. Yay I have no involvement with this list whatsoever.

I really don’t mind any of the next choices. OOC lists sounds like it would the most entertaining, as you’d get a huge rant out of it, which is the AWESOME reason to read the list.

I’d choose OOC for the lulz, but Overrated sets and flowcharts because Im very interested in seeing the result.

  11. ALRIGHTY…*cracks knuckles* Let’s take a stab at this. . .

    13. Yeah, that one kinda sucks for me really. I forgot the sign in for my owner account and, since it wasn’t originally for MYM anyway, I just made a new one. I could probably dig it up if we really need it though but my ownership won’t last much longer anyway with MYM8 coming to a close. I’ll hop on that account so I can be deownered before MYM9 stats.

    7. I’m not really sure why I’m on this one in all honesty as I too was made a leader in MYM5 alongside Tanookie and therefore had no power in choosing another leader to join the group.

    6. This one I won’t deny. I could and should be more active, especially considering this is my own MYM. Sure it’s a shame that my computer died but it’s really not much of an excuse so for that, I’m sincerely sorry for. I’ve been trying to post a bit more in the comments department as of late but school is taking up time too. Granted I really don’t need to make excuses when I’ve already admitted I could be doing better but…yeah. I’ll have Desukan up by the end of the contest for sure and I have several ideas (not plans (D)) for MYM9 movesets.

    5. Yes, hiring and firing of leaders is more or less my job. . .but with the point you mentioned above, can we really afford to lay off a leader mid-contest? That’s a choiec that should wait until after the contest is over really, despite how inactive (and from my understanding it’s not entirely Wiz’s fault anyway) he may be.

So yeah, I can take the blame for most of my faults here, no arguements from me and no rage either.

  12. ^Bleh, bunch of typos in the above post. You know what I meant (chew)

  13. Trust me, if I was still leader it wouldn’t change much about MYM8, I’m just as dead when it comes to comments right now as anyone else. Then again, I do tend to comment well on newcomer movesets, which is a pretty good quality for a MYM leader…(smirk2)

  14. To be fair, the proposal wasn’t really that bad when you consider the fact that nothing actually came from it in all honesty, except for a few boring heated debates/arguments in the chat room. I wasn’t fussed either way, there was no need to kick the old leaders, yet it wasn’t like they did that much important things that some fresh faces couldn’t have took over for a contest.
