Blowing the lid on smashbotgate

The collective effects of Battleheart on a coastal settlement

Yes, a moveset so terrible, Mendez killed himself

On November 22nd, 2011, I created the worst moveset known to man.  A set made throughout the course of the month said to be so unsmash, Sakurai himself has considered adding it into Super Smash Brothers 4.  Some people have collectively agreed that it is the worst moveset of Make Your Move 11 and possibly of all time.  It is the reason Chief Mendez left and will never return and why there is no cure for cancer.  Just today I’ve received death threats from people across the globe, including famed cinema directors Uwe Boll and Joel Schumacher.  Needless to say, I cooked up an apology that is definitely not from an apology generator site whatsoever.

A Sincere Apology

Make Your Move,
I’m truly sorry for shitting out Battleheart. I had no idea it would appall and disgust you so deeply. I really feel like shitting my pants. I know you’ve always wanted complete control over leadership, and if you could find it in your heart to forgive me, I’ll do anything I can to help you realize your dream.

Humbly yours,

If you can find it in your heart to forgive this moveset that inspired Hitler to carry out the Final Solution just to prevent anyone else like me from making another equally terrible one, then you, sir or madame, are a saint.  But don’t take my word for it; here are some other facts about the destructive effects of Battleheart.

Battleheart is the number one leading cause in animal abuse

Battleheart is the reason why Plorf has sex with horses

SmashDaddy was so preoccupied with the shittiness of Battleheart, he forgot to count PC’s votes, leading into one of the largest shitstorms in MYM history.

Upon further inspection, Rool commented that not even he liked the set, and proceeded to carve a paper mache mask depicting his own face during the process of reading Battleheart.  He died shortly after, only to be replaced by PPL.

This has been a public service announcement from the Make Your Move Union.

  1. I skimmed the set and didn’t like the concept either, but I increasingly find the whole idea of punishing users and beating up on unpopular movesets and opinions more and more disgusting. This was clearly an experimental moveset; the core concepts were inherently flawed, but smashbot deserves credit for trying something new at least, even if it wasn’t successful.

And I recognize at least that this is tongue-in-cheek, but I also wanted to point out that no moveset is completely unmeritorious, neither if it’s a Warlord set with it’s head so far up its own rear it can see out its own mouth nor if it’s a Katapultar set that throws all of the normal conventions of Make Your Move to the wind. And I know that this seems a strange thing to hear from one of the members of Make Your Move best known for accentuating the negative in even good sets.

I’m glad to see that Smashbot has taken this reaction in good humor, but I’d like to emphasize that even though he’s a big boy and can take it, it doesn’t make him any worse a person for trying something that didn’t work, and this failure shouldn’t discourage him from making movesets his own way either. How awful would it be if people made movesets to match the ‘popular vision’ instead of their own?

What do you think?
