Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

I’ll be honest I may have disliked this set because Sayaka gave me high expectations. But yeah, better luck next time.

  1. As I mentioned, I skipped the second video due to the volume being way too low, but I think I’ve gathered your complaints fairly well.

I won’t write too elaborate of a response, as the simple answer to many of them is that yes, you’re right, but I don’t particularly mind the things you do about the set. The main concern you have seems to be with their relative lack of playstyle. If anything, things started to feel a little flowchart-ish for me as I wrote the Playstyle section, but at the same time, I was straining to write a cohesive one anyway. It’s true, they don’t have much of a playstyle, and you can blame that on characterization if you like. Fact is, having a more flowing playstyle than this wouldn’t feel right for me, as they’re three ponies with different talents trying to work together to accomplish something. Nonetheless, pleased as I am with the characterization, I can understand you not liking it for the playstyle, or lack thereof, rather.

I disagree about the clunkiness or awkwardness of getting them to recognize their talents, though maybe that was obvious, since I wrote the set. If I told you Pikachu would get stronger by using a few attacks that involved electricity in a row, I bet you could do it without too much extra effort. Admittedly, he has a few more of those than each Crusader has moves that are her specialty, but I don’t think it’s far from the same idea.

And yes, things ended up gravitating toward Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle working together more without a real use for Scootaloo. Scootaloo happens to be the reason I didn’t post this last night, as I was struggling to fit her in better. Ultimately, I think I only changed one move, and it wasn’t really that big of a change. I’ll give you that one for sure. She’s definitely the pony I’m least proud of here.

I do appreciate the grace you showed in reviewing this, though. I was expecting a much harsher response, but I’m glad you were able to glean a couple things you liked and generally provide more constructive criticism than otherwise. Not to mention using plenty of phrases to make it clear this was only your opinion on the set. Thanks, FA. (HUG)

But I’m still gonna give Yummy Mummy an overly positive review as revenge. (DHAT)

  2. I’m not going to be able to give this anything above four stars for not featuring Plorf as the video background. Then again, that’d be fucking disturbing.
