CHAPTER 5 – FORCED-TO-FIGHT CLUB
Level 5-1: The Invisible Hand
We can see the Invisible Hand (Grievous’ ship for those who have forgotten) flying through the sky towards some unknown destination, but wherever it’s going, it’s traveling rather fast. The color of the sky suggests it’s in the early afternoon. After watching it fly for a few moments, the scene cuts to the inside of the ship. We can see battle droids roaming the halls, with some standing by doors like military guards. A cleaning droid that looks like R2-D2 goes over to an elevator and the door closes. The scene switches to the lower floor (shown through floor labels on the wall next to the elevator) and the cleaning unit comes out and turns down a hallway where we can hear shouting coming from. As the camera pans to look down this new hallway we can also see what appear to be blue force-fields along the sides covering small cells.
The Bunker 
Ah yes, Black Doom’s coliseum. This was the fan-favorite chapter back in the day, and on rediscovering it all these years later, it’s easy to see why. The most notable change is the mutant bird enemies; in the original it was just “look here’s some mutant birds”, now they’re *gasp* things from the characters’ games! Well, there’s also a bit more to the final cutscene…
This chapter’s concept predates even the prologue. When I first had the idea at trying my hand at a story mode, I planned on having Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat as one of the main antagonists, and there would be a chapter like this in his arena. By the time I was done putting the roster together, there were enough villains vying for screen time, so I turned it into the high-tech locale we have here.
