CHAPTER 7 – A TALE OF TWO SHADOWS
Level 7-1: The Streets of Mute City
We now return to Samus’s team as the heroes continue to search for the hidden enemy base in Mute City. It is still nighttime, but it is a little darker than usual since a rainstorm is starting up. Fortunately, the lights inside the millions of windows are as bright as ever, so visibility is by no means poor.
The team is simply walking along a street, trying to act nonchalant, or as nonchalant as possible for a group consisting of two armor-clad warriors, a floating doll, and a few anthropomorphic animals. Donna is carrying a handheld camera around with her, taking pictures of Mute City at night. Samus turns to Master Chief and gets a thought bubble showing a picture of a military base surrounded by buildings, a reference to the enemy base. Master Chief thinks for a moment and the scene changes to a flashback. It shows him hiding behind a dumpster listening to two demons talking in gibberish. As they continue talking, one gets a thought bubble showing the same base Samus is talking about, but it has a large bird-like creature flying around it. The other demon laughs and the two walk away.
The Bunker 
I had considered merging the two Mute City chapters together, since they’re both short and were even called “Act 1” and 2 in the original. I decided to leave them separate because it has the cool effect of making this the Shadow Lugia Chapter. The legendary bird itself is one of the bigger boss overhauls. For some reason, besides Shadow Blast, I didn’t think to include its other Shadow attacks from XD in the original fight…
The platforming section in the park is new. It felt off to me that twice I emphasized this place with wild Pokemon inside Mute City but didn’t do much with it besides a single brawl.
